Weekly Notes 8-6-22

U7 Hurling

Our under 7s travelled to Causeway last Friday, facing a tough side they represented the club well and were up to the challenge. A great display of hurling was put on by both teams as their supporters cheered on from the sideline, well done boys we are very proud of you all.   Congratulations to this weeks player of the week Noah Kirby, well done Noah.

U9 Hurling

Our U9s visited Causeway on Tuesday evening with two teams – Team Black and Team White playing matches against Causeway and Lixnaw. There were fantastic skills on display by the boys from both teams with the progress there for all to see. Well done to all the boys.

Summer Camp

There are still some places available for the club Summer camp for boys and girls aged 5 to 13.  The camp will run from Monday 18th to Thursday 21st of July, 10 to 1pm. Non-members are welcome.  Come along and give hurling a try.

Féile na nGael

The fundraising for the Féile na nGael final at the end of June continues.  We had a busy Friday evening as the draw for raffle took place in Caherslee.  The winners were: €250 Gretta Quirke (seller, Jayden Sugrue) €150 Shane Kissane (Seller, Eamon Kissane), €100 Hannah Ferriter (Seller, Kyle Benson). Congratulations to the winners.  Thank you to everyone who sold and bought lines. Many thanks to Bensons Quik Pick shop in Keel for sponsoring the prizes and also to Tralee printing works for sponsoring the raffle cards.

We also had a quiz night in O’Donnells, Mounthawk on Friday night.  There was a great attendance and atmosphere on the night with people delighted to see the return of club social events.  The go fund me page is still active so anybody who wasn’t able to buy a line in the raffle or attend the quiz can still support the team. The page can be found at: https://bit.ly/TPFeile

Congratulations

Congratulations to the Kerry Camogie team and to our own Katie O Dwyer and Ciara Maloney as Kerry defeated Carlow in round 2 of the Intermediate championship.  Final score 0-14 to 2-6.

Congratulations also to the Kerry hurlers on a very strong performance in Croke Park on Saturday in the Joe McDonagh final.  While we did not win, the team showed great determination and spirit to come back and loose by just a single point.  We had four players on the bench on the day with a special shout out to Brian Lonergan who came on in the second half.

Tralee Parnells Hurling & Camogie Club would like to extend our sincere sympathies to Cillian and Ben Litchfield on the recent passing of their grandfather Jim.  Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílís.
