Weekly Notes 23-8-23

U11 Hurling

Our U11s played a fantastic match at home in Caherslee against a very strong St. Brendans side. Their work rate was something to be very proud of with some unreal scores.  The boys came away with a brilliant win. Well done lads.

U18 Hurling
Our U18s also played Firies at home in Caherslee in the first round of North Kerry Championship. The lads put in a fantastic performance on a final score of Parnells 2-20 Firies 2-5

Junior Hurling
Our Junior hurlers played their first match of the County Junior Championship against Rathmore in Cordal. Unfortunately it was not their day, after a good first half showing, Rathmore pulled away in the second half. Best of luck to Rathmore in the final

Intermediate Hurling
Our Intermediate hurlers take on St Brendans, Ardfert on Thursday evening in the re-scheduled North Kerry Intermediate Championship.  Throw-in will be at 7pm at home in Caherslee.  We hope to see lots of support for our county Champions.

Kerry Camogie
The Kerry U14’s ended their season with a great performance in the Orla McDonagh cup in Tipperary at the weekend. After reaching the Cup semifinal, they lost out to a strong Cork side by just one point. Well done to Evie, Jessica, Aoibhin, Emma, Georgia, Sarah and Avril. Missing on the day were Eimear and Orla. The girls had a fantastic season and did themselves and the Club proud. Many thanks to the Kerry U14 Management for all of their time.

Minor Camogie

Hard luck to our Minor ladies who unfortunately came up against a strong Causeway side on Thursday in the final round of the County League. Thank you to Causeway for a sporting game. We will continue to train in preparation for the semifinals in mid September.

Buster Fundraiser

There was a great turnout at the Kingdom Greyhound track on Saturday for our Buster Fundraiser.  With plenty of action on and off the track with live music, kids skills zone, face painting, lucky dip and bouncy castle.  There was great excitement when the glamorous Roses arrived for the event.  Thank you to Declan Dowling and his team at the Kingdom greyhound track and to all of the club volunteers who helped to organise the event or helped on the day.  Thank you to everyone who supported the event by purchasing a ticket and to all our event sponsors. A special thank you to our main event sponsor O’ Connells Pharmacy.

Lotto

There was no winner of the jackpot in last weeks club lotto draw. Congratulations to Sandra Walsh and Eileen Benson who won €25 in the lucky dip.  Numbers drawn were 4, 5, 17, 24.
