U7 Hurling

Tralee Parnells under 7’s gave it their all at training on Friday evening in Caherslee, with three teams competing in a relay race.  The hurling competitiveness was mighty but friendly. The boys went on to complete a few hurling drills and then left everything on the field in two fine matches, as the season begins to draw to a close the progress made by these young players is a delight to see and a credit to the club. Well done to this weeks players of the week Cian Slade and Connor Long, congratulations boys.

This season we were very lucky to be assisted by youth coach and referee Shauna Harris, even at the beginning of her coaching career Shauna is an example to us all of the perfect coach and mentor. We wish Shauna all the best in her recovery and hope to have her back on the under 7’s coaching panel soon.

U8 Camogie

Our U8s Camogie team travelled to Killarney last Saturday morning in very wet conditions. Well done to the girls for a great game, special mention to Serena Slattery and Orlaith Joy for helping Killarney out to ensure all the girls got game time. The improvement in the skills has been fantastic to see over the summer. Thank you to Killarney Camogie club for hosting and to all the parents for travelling.

U14 Hurling

Our U14s were victorious when they met Lixnaw at home on Friday evening in the semi final of the North Kerry B U14 championship. Final score: Tralee Parnells 5-14 Lixnaw: 2-8. The boys will now meet Firies in the final.

Junior Hurling

Tralee Parnells B 1-11 St Brendans C 1-15

In the first round of the County Junior Hurling Championship in Ardfert on Sunday evening, our Junior hurlers lost out in a tight game to the home side. The concession of a relatively soft goal early in the first half had Parnells chasing the game, though the free-taking of Paul Daly was keeping Parnells in the game. HT: St Brendans 1-9 Parnells 0-5. Parnells upped their game considerably in the second half and started chipping away at St Brendans’ lead – a goal from a close in free by Daly giving the Parnells lads hope. However, the concession of frees at the other end allowed St Brendans lift the siege and Parnells were never able to close the gap. We wish St Brendans luck in the semi-final.
