U8

The U8 boys and girls had a fantastic evening of fun in glorious sunshine for their first blitz of the year. Parnells had two teams who played four matches each and displayed great skill and competitiveness across them all.  Managment are very proud at how much they have imnproved since the start of the season.  Keep up the practise boys and girls !

U10 and U12 Camogie

The U10s and U12s had a fantastic session on Tuesday evening.  The girls got some great inspiration from coach Aine but also our Division 1 County Feile Champions team who paid a visit ! Hopefully, in another few years these girls will be on their own exciting journey to a National Feile final.  Training continues every Tuesday evening in Pairc na Darach (The Complex Pitch).  All new members are welcome to join a fantastic group of players. Contact Aine 089 429 1381 for any queries.

U14 Camogie

Tralee Parnells U14’s had a great game away against a very competitive and skillful Ballyduff side during the week with some fantastic defensive work by both teams. Our thanks to Ballyduff and to John Ross for referring the game.

Feile Skills

Congratulations to Parnells player Caoimhe Shanahan who came second in the U15 Kerry Feile Camogie skills competition during the week. Congratulations also to Causeway players Chloe Egan and Bridget Canty who were placed first and third respectively. This was a fantastic opportunity and experience for these players. We wish Chloe and Caoimhe the very best of luck as they both go on to represent Kerry Camogie at the Munster Camogie Skills Competition. Thank you to Siobhán Herbert from Kerry Camogie for organising the competition and to all those involved.

Minor Camogie

A glorious sunny evening in Caherslee hosted round 4 of the county minor league between Tralee Parnells and Causeway. A close opening period saw Parnells level with Causeway after the first quarter but we settled into the game and with great skill and team play Parnells went ahead with a comfortable lead at halftime. With the heat and only one sub Tralee made a slow start in the second half but the players stepped up and really showed their talent and determination to come away with a good win in the end. Thank you to Causeway for a competitive game and to John Ross for refereeing. Wishing Causeway player Lily Stack a speedy recovery.

Minor Hurling

The minor hurlers had a good start to their Hurling League Division 1 campaign with a win over Kenmare/Kilgarvan.   Despite leading 0-12 to 0-8 at halftime, Parnells found themselves four points down midway through the second half after a strong Kenmare/Kilgarvan surge.  True to form for this team, our lads dug deep, showing great determination and skill to turn the game around even after losing goalkeeper Cian Harris to injury following a brilliant save.  Parnells finished strong to win 1-20 to 2-14.   We wishing Cian a speedy recovery.  Their next match will be at home in Caherslee against Ballyduff, throw-in at 7pm on Wednesday evening 14th May.

Junior Camogie

The junior camogie team had a great win during the week in the 9 a side County league against Cillard. It was a fast paced game played in perfect conditions with some fantastic scoring. It was great to have so many players on the squad with every player getting game time. The ladies next face Killarney in two weeks time. Thank you to Cillard for a tough competitive game and to Mike Hennessy for refereeing the match.

Senior Hurling

Our senior hurlers went toe-to-toe with St Brendan’s last  Friday evening in Round 7 of the SHL, playing out a high-octane clash at Ardfert that kept fans on edge right to the final whistle.  Despite both sides missing a few key players, the intensity never dropped. From the throw-in, it was clear this was going to be a battle — hard hits, slick scores, crucial saves, and last-ditch defending all packed into a first half that saw Parnells take a narrow 1-04 to 0-06 lead into the break.  The second half ramped up even further. Neither team gave an inch, with every ball fiercely contested in a gritty but fair encounter. In the end, it was St Brendan’s who just shaded it, coming out on top by a single point 1-15 to 2-11.  It was a game that could have gone either way.  All credit to St Brendan’s on a great win and thank you to Séamus Mulvihill for officiating a sporting and hard-fought match.  Next up is a match at home in Caherslee against Lixnaw on Friday evening at 7pm for the final round of the County League.  We hope to see a great turnout to support the team.
