U7 Hurling

Our under 7’s were fired up for training last Friday in Caherslee, with talk of Mondays upcoming match in the air they were more than willing to put in the prep and will make formidable opponents. These boys have come along in strides throughout the season and are a credit to the mighty Parnells. Congratulations to this week’s players of the week: Éanna Sheehan and Enda Moriarty, well done to you both.

U9 Hurling

Well done to our ever improving U9 boys who had two high quality away games against Abbeydorney on Wednesday evening. The boys showed great skill and determination.  Well done boys. Thank you to Abbeydorney for hosting the matches.

Minor Camogie

Our Minor Camogie team travelled to Spa GAA on Tue 2nd August to take on Killarney.  It was a keenly contested match, with both teams putting in a spirited display and plenty of end to end action.  Killarney started brighter and had a goal from the opening encounters, playing with the benefit of a fresh breeze.  Tralee had also arrived with scoring ambitions and got themselves back into the game with a couple of goals of their own.  Killarney were more easily able to take points and it was all to play for as the teams broke for half time.  The breeze died down and was barely a factor as the whistle blew for the restart.  As the second half progressed, Killarney stretched out to a 3 point lead, but another attacking surge by the visitors saw Eugenie finish to the net from close range to tie up the scoreline.  Cumulative knocks and the inevitable effects of so much running and chasing, were beginning to take a toll on Tralee and Killarney finished the stronger with a late goal.  Overall it was a good spectacle and both sides will now look forward to upcoming county Minor round 3 matches.  Special mention to the under 16s who stepped up to the challenge and played some great Camogie.  We wish Shauna a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing her back training and playing soon.  Tralee Parnells Minor Camogie team on the night: Jessica O’Loughlin, Cíara Casey, Kirby Anne Ryan, Róise O’Donnell, Eugenie Kerins, Clodagh O’Sullivan, Abbie Canty, Kate O’Loughlin, Lana O’Connell, Shauna Harris, Rachel Sargent, Gráinne Diggin, Labhaoise Mansfield, Maeve Trant.
