U11 Hurling
The under 11s played Abbeydorney during the week and put in a fantastic performance. There was an improvement all around in application and team work from our lads. Abbeydorney took the win but our players and coaches came away from the game full of confidence.

Junior Camogie
In the Kerry Junior Camogie League , the opening game for our club was a Parnells trip to play CillArd in Kilmoyley on the 5th of July. Numbers were tight, but this meant every player who took to the field saw plenty of action. We were lacking game time due to exam schedules and other clashes, but there was no shortage of hunger to play on display on the night. Jessica pulled off some fine saves and was excellent on puckouts and ball distribution. Our full back line was up against a serious forward line, but they marked doggedly and thwarted plenty of attacks, to the point where the manager was wondering could he see a new position for Ciara Moloney longer term at the edge of the square. Alice was also in an unaccustomed number 6 position, but was tireless in defending and chasing, able assisted by Ciara Casey, Rachel O Sullivan and all those around her. Midfielders Ella and Róise showed great fitness and drive, supporting the defence, repeatedly winning tussles, turning over ball and setting up forward play. Katie, Lia and Nora got on plenty ball, created lots of good scoring opportunities and delivered possession repeatedly to the inside forwards. This predominantly younger squad should be very happy with the number of opportunities they created and points they scored, against a very seasoned home panel, and they were unfortunate not to raise a green flag more than once in the earlier stages. The icing on the cake came in the dying minutes, when Martina drew a foul in the area and Ciara calmly slotted the resulting penalty low to the right of the net. The focus now for this squad is regular training as a group and preparation for the remaining upcoming junior and minor county league fixtures.
