U18 North Kerry B Championship Final
Tralee Parnells 3-6 Abbeydorney/Causeway 1-15
On a wet night in Caherslee under lights last Friday evening, Parnells U18s were defeated in the final of the North Kerry B Championship after a fine performance which ultimately came up just short. The visitors raced into an early lead and dominated the 1st half with their forward line proving difficult to handle for the Parnells backs. By the 23rd minute, Abbeydorney/Causeway were 13 points clear but Parnells came back into the game towards the end of the 1st half with a great goal by Dan Maloney to give them some hope as they trailed by 8 points, 1-10 1-2.
As with previous matches, the Parnells lads roused themselves for the 2nd half and dominated possession. A goal by sub Brian Reidy and another by Dan Maloney, who finished with 2-2, and 3 frees from Will Somers had the lads within 3 points but time eventually ran out. They can be very proud of their performance and the attitude they showed in this and all the matches. Thanks to families and all the supporters for coming out to support the lads in poor weather conditions.
